The Alchemist's Ghost

Ghosts have begun appearing and nobody knows why—not even the ghosts themselves. 

Lia can’t remember anything before three years ago, none of the ghosts can. She doesn’t even know her real name. Her only connection to the ordinary humans is through her inexplicable attraction to Nik, a professor at the local university and head of their research into the ghost phenomenon. 

Desperate to be with Nik, Lia teams up with an unsavory gang leader trying to find a way to become solid. She juggles her search for a “cure” with trying to care for ghostly orphans and working for the mysterious Movement, an organization that is trying to upend the ghosts’ way of life and establish a functioning society.

Unsure where her loyalties lie, Lia must ultimately choose between protecting the family she has built or being with the man she loves.
